Welcome to Pownall Hall School’s Owl’s Room
When your child turns two, they will move through into our Owls Room. It’s a calm space filled with cosy nooks, warm textures and interesting objects to engage curiosity and discussion. Our children are comfortable to have fun, explore or just snuggle down when they want to.
Our teaching staff plan ‘in the moment’ and follow the children’s lead, joining them in their learning journey. The children follow the EYFS curriculum and they are provided with endless learning opportunities in the following 7 areas:
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
At Pownall Hall School, we go beyond the EYFS framework and offer children specialist teaching in French, P.E., music, Forest School and yoga. These specialisms allow for a deeper understanding of the world and provide a gentle preparation for life within the main school.
The curriculum is facilitated with open-ended, natural resources and ‘loose parts’. These items can be anything the children want them to be and facilitate high levels of engagement, creativity and imagination.
We love being outside and are extremely fortunate to have direct access to our incredible outdoor area. We spend large amounts of time outside allowing us to connect with nature every day and inspire our future Explorers, Adventurers and Scientists.
Your child will stay in the Owl Room until their final year before school. At the end of Nursery, all children move through together to Kindergarten.
