We are very proud of the incredible team that we have in place, led by our brilliant Headmaster David Goulbourn. Rest assured that your child is in safe and experienced hands.

BA Hons History, PGCE distinction
From a young age, my passion for history has shaped both my academic and professional journey. I immersed myself in Ladybird books about iconic historical figures and created boxed models of characters like Richard the Lionheart. After studying history at A Level, I pursued a Modern History degree at the University of Liverpool, while still nurturing my interest in the medieval period. Upon entering the teaching profession, I combined my love for history with another passion: sports coaching, particularly in football and rugby.
I have served as Head in two schools and held positions as Deputy and Director of Studies in two others, beginning my teaching career at Runnymede (St Edward's College) Prep School in Liverpool. I became Headmaster of Pownall Hall School in January 2014, where I continue to share my enthusiasm for history and sports. I am deeply committed to ensuring that every child at Pownall is safe, happy, and given the best possible opportunities to thrive.

BA (Hons) English and American Literature; MA (Media Production); PGCE
English literature has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. A voracious reader who ran out of shelf space years ago, I also enjoy writing in all its forms: poems, short stories, plays, screenplays - I literally find it hard to think without a pen in my hand! It is a privilege to be able to share this passion with children. Reading is the ultimate act of wellbeing. What better way of living in the moment is there than to plunge into a book? And being able to express yourself wisely - to share your thoughts, emotions and opinions with care and consideration - is so important in this fast-changing and sometimes confusing world.
After indulging my passion for English at Warwick University, followed by a year spent writing screenplays and making short films at Christ Church College, Canterbury, I fell into teaching accidentally when what was meant to be a temporary job teaching at a Pre-Prep School run by an inspirational Headmistress in South London turned out to be far more rewarding than I could possibly have imagined. Since then, I have taught in both state and independent schools in London, Staffordshire and Cheshire, finally arriving at Pownall in 2022, first as Head of English and subsequently Deputy Head, too.

Graduating with a BSc in Geography and Geology from Keele University, I began my early career at Yorkshire Bank gaining the chartered institute of banking qualification. I enjoyed working as a Branch Manager helping customers and local businesses. I then moved across the Pennines and worked for several years managing a corporate sales team for United Utilities.
Following the birth of my son, 18 years ago, I decided to follow my passion and life long ambition to become a teacher - I have never looked back! I began my teaching career in Bolton, before moving to a local independent school. I developed an interest in dyslexia and Special Educational Needs following my son's diagnosis as I was keen to understand how to support him. Shortly after this I gained the position of SENCo and then Assistant Head and achieved the National Association for SENCo award. I also gained my AMBDA accreditation as a dyslexia specialist teacher and assessor.
Since joining Pownall in February 2023, I feel very lucky to be part of the Pownall family. I have been able to use my experience as SENCo and have recently been appointed Deputy Head Pastoral which enables me to focus on helping all the children at Pownall thrive and I find this incredibly rewarding. In my spare time I enjoy watching live music, going to the theatre and travelling to new places.

Georgia Flynn
My name is Georgia Flynn and I am very lucky to be Head of Early Years at our beautiful school. This means I oversee the youngest children of our Pownall family as they start their journey along the Pownall Pathway, a real privilege.
I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember and as an only child I spent lots of time ‘teaching’ my teddies and dolls, so an Early Years Degree with Qualified Teacher Status felt like the natural path to follow when I had completed my A Levels. I couldn’t wait for my first teaching post which was at a State School in Stockport where I taught in a Foundation Unit made up of 90 Nursery and Reception children.
I joined Pownall 16 years ago as a Reception Teacher and I have been lucky to have had a number of different roles during this time. As well as teaching Reception I have taught Form one and Kindergarten at Pownall, this gives me a good sense of where the children are coming from and going to so I can really make sure they are prepared. In addition I have spent 3 years as a Learning Support Teacher where I worked solely with children who might need some extra support. I loved this special role and I will continue to support these children and their families alongside working in all of the Early Years rooms.
I have my own family with four children, who are also proud members of the Pownall family. I am sure you will see them around as they also love to help out in the EYFS!
In our spare time we love to visit the beach with our dog Polly who is happiest chasing the waves.
I look forward to getting to know you all better and sharing this special time with your children. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Mark Hughes
I joined the school as Business Manager in November 2022, and I am delighted to be a part of the team. As a Chartered Accountant, I bring a strong financial background to the role.
Prior to my appointment, I had the pleasure of working with the school for over 10 years as the Senior Manager at our auditors, which gave me a unique insight into the school's operations and a deep understanding of its financial landscape.
I find my role most rewarding when I can provide the Governors and senior leadership team with accurate and timely financial information, enabling them to make informed decisions that benefit the school and its community. I am committed to using my skills and experience to support the school's strategic objectives and contribute to its continued success.
Outside of the school I enjoy spending family time with our two children and Springer Spaniel, playing pool, snooker and watching Liverpool FC.

Studied Undergraduate Degree in Architectural Design and Technology at the University of Salford before embarking on a PGDE in Secondary Education through Leeds Metropolitan University.
My passion for Design and Technology came from an early age, I always enjoyed understanding how things worked mechanically, and how one could use tools to craft different items. I would spend hours as a child with my Grandfather in his workshop creating different things and learning about different tools and equipment. Interestingly, my Design and Technology teacher at secondary school inspired me to undertake a career teaching and encouraged me throughout my time at university and during the completion of my post graduate degree.
I began my teaching career back in 2014 where I worked and completed my PGDE at one of the Trafford Grammar Schools; from there I spent five years teaching Design & Technology at a state school in Trafford. During this time, I taught Design and Technology at both GCSE and AS level focusing on Product Design, Metal work and Resistant Materials. Long before 2014, I spent many years coaching multi-sports in local primary schools, delivering hockey and cricket.
Starting my own Pownall Hall journey in September 2018, I have taught Design and Technology and PE/ Games to children across all age ranges of the school. Being given the opportunity to pass on my knowledge and expertise to children is something which really drives and inspires me as a person. Design and Technology, enables exploration, creativity, adaptability and teamwork to be brought into the classroom through imaginative and inspiring projects. My favourite aspect about my job is being able to teach children from Reception to Form 6 and observing the children flourish and grow year on year in my subject.
I am a qualified ECB Level 2 cricket coach, with over 15 years of experience coaching and managing cricket with children from the ages of 5 years old up to under 15's. A passionate club cricketer who has been at the same cricket club for over 20 years.

As a French national, I have experienced firsthand the immense value of speaking another language— first by studying in Germany and then when moving to England. It opens doors and creates countless opportunities. My teaching journey began in secondary schools, but I found my true passion in primary education, where the excitement and creativity of young learners make every lesson an adventure.
I joined Pownall Hall School in 2013 where I have been dedicated to sharing my love for French and German with our children and inspiring them to embrace the wonderful world of languages by creating a classroom environment that makes learning fun and engaging.

BA (Hons) English, Film and Drama, QTS
English and drama have always been my specialist subjects, even though as a primary teacher I have taught all subjects to all age groups in my teaching career. As an undergraduate student studying English, Film and Drama, taking a play to the Edinburgh Fringe was a definite highlight and to this day I try to incorporate drama into lessons where possible as there is no better way to develop children’s confidence and character. I have taught in a range of independent and state schools in London, Cheshire and Staffordshire. I joined Pownall School in 2024 and thoroughly enjoy being part of the "Pownall Family".

Jordan Chapman
BA Hons in Physical Education. PGCE with a QTS in Primary 5-11 with a PE Specialism. Level 1 Netball Coach, INTO Officiating Netball Umpire
I am delighted to be part of the Pownall Hall School community as a PE and Games Teacher, a role I took on in September 2024. My passion for physical education stems from my own background, having been privately educated at an all-girls school for 14 years before transitioning to a co-educational environment for sixth form. This experience gave me a unique perspective on the importance of inclusivity and adaptability in sport and physical education.
I pursued my love for PE at Leeds Beckett University, where I studied Physical Education before completing my PGCE in Primary Education (ages 5-11) with a specialism in PE. My teaching philosophy is rooted in fostering a love of sport and movement in all children, encouraging them to develop lifelong skills and a positive relationship with physical activity.
Outside of the classroom, I am passionate about travelling and exploring new cultures. I am also a Grade 7 flautist, enjoy singing in my spare time, and have a bit of a rock ‘n’ roll edge—I used to play drums and sing in a rock band! I’m excited to bring my enthusiasm and creativity to my role at Pownall Hall and inspire students to find joy in sport and teamwork.
As a passionate and dedicated PE teacher, I have gained extensive experience coaching a wide range of sports, primarily within independent schools. A couple of rewarding experiences include 3rd place finish in the Regional Netball Competition, unbeaten season in Hockey and coaching numerous teams at county level swimming and tennis.
I thoroughly enjoy seeing each child progress and grow in their sporting abilities, building confidence and teamwork. Whether out on the netball courts or football pitches, I find immense joy in helping young athletes discover their potential and develop lifelong love for sport.

BA (Hons) in Primary Education with QTS, MSc Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Wellbeing
I joined Pownall Hall School in October 2022 after graduating from university and have thoroughly enjoyed being part of this vibrant school community. My journey began as a cover teacher, working across the whole school and gaining valuable experience in various year groups. I then worked closely with the Year 1 department as a form teacher, and I am now delighted to serve as both a Form Teacher and maths specialist in the Prep department.
My teaching career began with my studies at Edge Hill University in 2018, where I obtained a BA (Hons) in Primary Education with QTS, graduating in 2021. Building on my passion for education and wellbeing, I pursued a master’s degree in MSc Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Wellbeing, which I completed in September 2022.
My love for teaching stems from my own positive school experiences. I’ve always enjoyed learning, exploring new things, and connecting with friends. The support and encouragement from my teachers gave me the tools to succeed and instilled in me a passion for teaching. My goal is to provide every child with the same opportunities to grow, learn, and thrive.
For me, one of the most rewarding aspects of being a primary school teacher is witnessing the development of each child. Watching their confidence grow, their resilience strengthen, and their academic and emotional abilities flourish is an absolute privilege. As teachers, we play a crucial role in helping children become the best versions of themselves, and I’m grateful to be part of that journey every day.

I'm a passionate music educator and accomplished violinist with a wealth of experience in both performance and teaching. I graduated from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2008, where I studied as a violinist. Upon leaving I became a performer and also taught children of all ages instruments including violin, saxophone, piano, cello, flute and clarinet. I have performed on stages around the world as a soloist, in a duet and in a quartet.
In 2016, I further developed my teaching career completing a PGCE in secondary Music, followed by working as Head of a Music department in Derbyshire. I then wanted to progress further and start from the early years, eventually landing me at Pownall Hall.

I hold a degree in Teaching, Learning, and Mentoring from Edge Hill University.
My journey began in a primary school, where I supported a young boy from Reception through to Year 6. This was a rewarding experience, as I worked closely with the child, following educational programs and developing strategies that best suited his needs.
During this time, I gained valuable experience working with educational professionals, such as Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists, among others. The insights and knowledge I gained continue to inform my practice today.
In 2022, I joined Pownall Hall School. The decision to join was an easy one, as I had heard so many positive experiences from both staff and parents about the school. Since joining, I have had the privilege of working with an amazing team, where everyone contributes fantastic ideas and strives to achieve the best outcomes for the children and the school.
I have a passion for working with children and watching them grow as they reach their goals. I particularly enjoy spending time with my niece and nephews, often at farms or soft play areas, especially if they involve ice cream!

Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning
I am a Teaching Assistant in Forms 5 and 6 here at Pownall, although I never started my career in education at all!
My first full time job after studying A Levels at college was working for a short time as a general office clerk in a company that supplied fish, sausages and pies to local fish and chip shops! From there, I was employed for 11 years at a point-of-sale printing company as a Sales Office Administrator, where I was the in-office contact for a team of Sales Representatives. It was quite a varied role, which also had me travelling around the country, organising stands at trade fairs and events like golf days for our reps and their clients.
After marrying then having a child, I decided against returning to full-time employment, opting instead to spend more time with my little boy. So I worked part-time in food retail, supposedly for the short-term, but ended up staying there for 6 years! During this time, I volunteered at my son’s primary school, reading and working with small groups of Reception and Year 1 children. When a vacancy arose there for a KS2 Classroom Assistant, I applied for the role, was successful and remained at that school for just over 15 years, until arriving at Pownall in October 2015, where I gained my Level 3 qualification for supporting teaching and learning.
I really enjoy working at Pownall: it is like a big family, such is the sense of community amongst the staff, children and their families. No two days are the same, and I thrive on how diverse the job can be. I am passionate about helping the students achieve their best through challenge, and try to encourage them in their personal interests.
Which brings me to my personal interests: I love spending time with my family, reading, walking and I enjoy cooking. I also ride horses, purely for recreation now, although I did compete in show-jumping competitions until I was in my early 20s.
Looking to the future, I hope to spend at least a few more amazing years with my Pownall family and help the school achieve even greater success.

I joined Pownall in 2023 after spending 17 years working in independent schools, and state schools prior to that! Supporting children is my passion, in my role focusing on helping them with Maths, English, and emotional well-being, ensuring they feel confident and capable in all areas.
I’m a proud parent of four grown-up children and the owner of a gorgeous puppy who keeps me on my toes! I’m married to Dominic, and we’ve had the wonderful experience of living in New Zealand, which was an unforgettable chapter in our lives.
In my spare time, I love walking, cooking, going to the theatre, and meeting up with friends.

Sarah Hope
Hi, my name is Sarah Hope, I studied linguistics at Manchester University and, following some time travelling and carrying out numerous jobs to fund my travels, I decided to ignite my passion for teaching and have never looked back since. I have now been teaching for over 20 years!
My teaching career started in a village school in Nantwich, in 2002, where I taught Year 6, I then moved to Manchester and moved to work at a primary school closer to home. In this primary school, I taught all year groups ranging from Year 6 all the way down to Nursery. This was a great learning experience and provided me with a wealth of knowledge and skills. During this time, I also got married and had two gorgeous boys!
In 2020, I joined the wonderful Pownall family as a Prep teacher. My main subject is English, which I love, but I also really enjoy teaching RE, Humanities and PSHE. The Pownall ethos, amazing staff, incredible children and supportive families are the reasons why I love my job!

Vicky Hayton

I have always had a strong passion for education, which was ignited by my desire to create an engaging and enjoyable learning environment for all children. My background in coaching swimming allowed me to understand the importance of fostering a love for learning, motivating me to transition into the classroom.
Before joining Pownall, I spent ten fulfilling years as a swimming coach, where I honed my skills in mentorship and leadership, working with elite teams at Stockport Metro and Cheadle Hulme School. I then shifted my focus to education, teaching at a community primary school in Oldham, where I worked with Year 3, 4, and 5 students.
There is nothing more fulfilling than witnessing children achieve their full potential. As a Form 2 teacher, I love seeing the progress of my students and feeling that I play a part in their academic and personal growth. Each milestone they reach is a testament to their hard work and resilience, which inspires me every day.

BA (Hon) English Language and Childhood Studies, PGCE in Primary Education
I graduated with a BA Honours in English Language and Childhood Studies from the University of the West of England Bristol, before embarking on a PGCE in Primary Education. I’ve always loved working with children, a passion sparked by an amazing Year 2 teacher who really inspired me.
I began my teaching career in 2014 at a state primary school in South Manchester, where I gained valuable experience working across Key Stage 1. In 2020, I joined Pownall, just as we were emerging from the challenges of the pandemic. During my time here, I have taught various subjects across the school, including English to Form 4, Humanities, and Religious Education. However, most of my time has been dedicated to teaching in Form 1 and 2. Currently, I work three days a week in Form 2, where I continue to nurture a love of learning in my pupils.
When I’m not teaching, I love going on long walks in the fields near my home with my husband and our cavapoo, Pippa. I also really enjoy visiting new places and trying out different cuisines.

Phillipa Marshall
BSc Psychology, PGSE
My pedagogical experience spans more than a decade and during this time, I have had the opportunity to work across a number of schools across the UK, branching across Key stages 1, 2 and 3.
My journey began at Bath University where I studied ‘middle years Science’. I was lucky to experience working in a lab with KS3 children which I thoroughly enjoyed (especially the explosive experiments!). At this time, I also worked in a KS2 primary class and this is where I decided that I enjoyed the variety that primary offered. Upon qualifying, I was able to choose whether to pursue primary or secondary teaching. I chose primary and have never looked back since.
My favourite subject is English and for as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed writing poems and short stories in my spare time, as well as reading. Luckily, I can now share this passion with my two children.
I joined Pownall in 2015 and have followed the journey of so many children (and their families). It is wonderful to see the children grow and thrive in our lovely school, under the care and guidance of such a nurturing and professional team.
Pownall really is a unique school where family and community is at its heart.

I am a passionate childcare professional with a rich cultural background, being half Italian and raised in a family that values nurturing and care. Educated at Princess Christian College in Manchester, I discovered an early love for working with children and have dedicated my career to supporting young people’s growth and development. With a hands-on approach and years of experience since finishing school, I combine creativity, empathy, and professionalism to create safe and enriching environments where children thrive in my care.
I started my career as a private nanny, gaining invaluable in-home childcare experience and developing a deep understanding of individual children’s needs. In 2002, I transitioned into an in-school role at The King’s School in Macclesfield, where I acquired extensive knowledge and experience working within a classroom environment. This foundation allowed me to further my career in 2013 by joining Pownall Hall School, where I have continued to build on my expertise and prioritise professional development. Over the years, I have used my gained skills to foster positive learning environments and support children’s growth both academically and emotionally.
I joined Pownall Hall School in 2013 in a part-time role, allowing me to balance caring for my young children at home whilst continuing my professional development. Over time, I transitioned into a full-time position, gradually taking on increased responsibilities within the school. While continuing my role as a dedicated teaching assistant, I now oversee all aspects of wraparound care, including breakfast club, aftercare, and holiday care, ensuring the provision of a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children beyond the classroom. In addition, I serve as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL), supporting the safeguarding and welfare of children in the absence of the DSL. This expanded role highlights my commitment to the well-being and development of every child in their care.

Level 3 CACHE Supporting Teaching and Learning
Whilst completing a year long placement at a local pre-school, I realised my passion for looking after children and helping them develop. Although I gained a first class degree in Marketing at the University of Leeds, I carried on my passion for child care through nannying and realised my nurturing and caring nature would be perfect for a teaching role in a school. As I had already completed a counselling qualification, I knew I loved to help people and wanted to develop and utilise my skill set in an education environment. My journey at Pownall Hall began in 2023 where I started in Owls and Robins in EYFS over the summer. I immediately felt at home at Pownall and wished to pursue my career further into the school. I began working as a teaching assistant in Form 1 in September 2023 where I thrived in the academic environment as I was able to assist with the children's progress and see the impact my support was having. I love working with the children in Form 1 as there is such a huge leap in development from the start of the year to the end. As an intuitive, caring person, it brings me so much happiness to be able to provide the children with constant, unwavering emotional support to put them in the best possible place to tackle the challenges of an academic timetable, coming from a play based curriculum in the EYFS. Throughout my first year as a teaching assistant I completed my Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification and have since stayed in Form 1 growing confidence and valuable knowledge to begin my teaching qualifications in September 2025.

Megan Gregory
My name is Megan Gregory and I am the Head of Kindergarten. Our Pownall Kindergarten is made up of our Heron, Nightingale and Kingfisher rooms, which is home to our preschool children. I have loved playing such an important part in the development and expansion of our thriving Kindergarten and overseeing the day to day running of this is extremely rewarding.
I have taught at Pownall since 2014 within both the Kindergarten and Reception. Prior to carrying out my PGCE at Edge Hill, I worked within the Pownall Kindergarten as a Teaching Assistant. Pownall has played a big part in my life, as not only is it where I have built a successful career in teaching, but it is also where my own daughter has also started her education.
Working within the Early Years is where I am happiest, as every day is completely different from the next and it can be very unpredictable. The Early Years allows me to be creative and provide children with new experiences. Seeing the children's faces as they experience something for the first time, conquer a fear or learn a new skill, can't be beaten!

I have 16 years experience working with children aged 3-4 years which has always been a passion of mine. What I love most about being an Early Years Teacher is that every day is different, I love that I get to play a vital role in a child’s learning and development and that I make a difference every day. Judith Earl
My name is Judith Earl. I began my career at Pownall Hall School back in 1995. I spent many wonderful years sharing my time with the 2 year old children in the nursery, now Owls. In 2024 I became the lead of the Heron Room provision for the 3 year old children. I am inspired by nature!
Being outside makes us happy, the natural light and fresh air re-energises us and we feel uplifted. Green and natural spaces are good for our mental health and our wellbeing. The smells, sounds and sights allow us to ‘tune in’ to nature and are incredibly relaxing for the mind. Outdoor activities such as grounding, forest bathing or practising mindfulness connect us more deeply with the world around us.
What is more, as our appreciation of the world around us grows, we are more likely to take responsibility for caring for the natural environment, creating our green architects of the future!
In Herons we feel the awe and wonder of nature everyday as we follow our Nature Curriculum. At Pownall we are extremely lucky to have our wonderful, natural grounds and we take time to appreciate the environment around us as part of our daily routine. It really is amazing! You may hear me talk a lot about ‘Hygge’.
Hygge (pronounced hue-guh) encompasses a feeling of happiness, cosy contentment and well being by enjoying the simple things in life. I bring Hygge into both my home and the Herons environment. Calm colours, cosy blankets, plants and flowers, enjoying food and drinks, family and friends.

Michelle Speight
Hello everyone, my name is Mrs Speight. I’ve been part of the Pownall family since 1999 working alongside Miss Earl and the Early years team. My role has always been to make sure that every child goes home happy having had a fun filled packed day. To enable all children to have this, I’ve always found myself helping those children who find it difficult to leave their carers. This is when I love to share their family book, look at family photos, holiday snaps, favourite things to do and most of all their favourite teddy or toy. They really do help children to settle as well as bond with staff members, we think there invaluable and a lovely way to get to know the children, develop their social skills, communication and the children love to share them with their friends.
Anyone who knows me at Pownall knows that my family play a big part of my life. I’m the youngest of seven children and I still do everything with my siblings either long walks, dinner, breakfast, trips to the theatre or just meeting up tea and cake 🍰 🍰 I myself have three girls. Charlie, Neave and Georgia Norah. Both Neave and Georgia attended Pownall and they still feel very much part of the Pownall family. I love sharing stories about the girls likes and dislikes and what we enjoy doing as a family, so I’m sure you will get to know all about them, from your children.
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all and spending happy times, building memories that last for ever 🥰

My name is Jo Hudson and I joined the Pownall family within the Robin Room in September 2022.
I have always been passionate about how best to support and engage children in their development and learning.
Initially after gaining a degree in Psychology at Manchester Metropolitan University I worked in Social Services specialising in residential and outreach support for children and their families. Then when I had my own children I became more interested in working with under 5’s. I’ve had jobs in a playgroup, pre-school and private day nurseries. I gained my NVQ 3 in Child Care. I found child development fascinating, seeing how each child needs different stimulation and opportunities in order to grow.

I hold a BA (Hons) in Early Years Practice, and with 27 years of experience working within the Early Years sector, I have had the pleasure of working at fabulous independent schools and day nurseries, across the country, prior to joining Pownall Hall.
I started my journey with Pownall Hall as a early years practitioner in January 2022. It was such an exciting time as we opened our beautiful Robin Room. It was a wonderful experience that allowed me to engage with our youngest children, our first Robins, and lay the foundations for their educational adventures as they took their very first steps at Pownall.
In September 2022, I transitioned to the role of Admissions Manager and I look forward to helping families embark on this amazing journey! If you have any questions or would like to learn more about our school, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

As the Marketing Manager at Pownall Hall School, I get to combine my passion for social media with a highly rewarding role working with children. Although my educational journey concluded with a degree in Animal Welfare, I've been active on social media since 2007 and decided to turn my hobby into a career as a Content Creator in 2018. I've had amazing opportunities to work with global brands such as Lego and Pampers, due to building a six-figure following on Instagram.
I joined Pownall Hall School in 2022, where I thoroughly enjoy sharing the special moments and stories of our school community through photography and videography. I feel lucky to be able to use my marketing skills to promote our school's values and spirit, and I'm excited to see what the futureholds.

I have enjoyed 11 years at pownall school, joining in 2014.
I started my career in the care industry, where I developed a deep passion for supporting and nurturing others. Getting involved in volunteer work in my spare time further inspired me to make a positive impact, and this commitment led me to transition into my current role as a Catering Manager at Pownall. My early career along with volunteering, has given me a strong belief in creating a supportive, community-driven environment, which is a mindset I try to bring with me to work everyday whilst working alongside the children and my colleagues. As a mother myself I know how important nutrition is to parents and variety to the children. My love for travel and explore different cities across the world gives me inspiration for exciting food to add variety and cultural richness to the school menu. I am a very family-oriented individual, and enjoy spending quality time with my loved ones … often trying (and occasionally failing) to join me in my love for camping and bird watching, which is what I love to do in my spare time.

Joined Pownall Hall School in 2022
I studied at Wilmslow High school, then began my career working for a local solicitor within their finance team, for 14 years, which provided me with valuable experience in organisation, and working within structured environments.
However, after having my own child, I realised I wanted to contribute to the environment where children develop, and food and nutrition is a huge part of this.
My own experience as a parent, has given me a true understanding of the importance of creating a nurturing and healthy environment for children.
My child is my greatest passion, and I believe this drives my commitment to ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive in their learning journey.
Outside of work, I am an avid football fan and enjoy spending quality time with my family. Whether it's a weekend at the match or a day out together, family is at the heart of everything I do, and I strive to bring that same sense of community and care into my role at Pownall.

Cleaning has always been a therapeutic activity for me. I find it relaxing and a perfect way to take a break from the chaos of everyday life. The rhythmic nature of cleaning allows me to clear my mind and focus, making it feel less like a chore and more like a form of self-care.
Prior to starting at Pownall Hall in 2023, I worked privately in several households. This experience helped me refine my skills and develop a keen eye for detail, ensuring that each space I worked in felt welcoming and well cared for. The feedback I received from clients reinforced my passion for maintaining clean and organized environments.

I joined Pownall Hall in July 2023, and I’m excited to contribute to our wonderful community.
My passion for cleaning started at a young age when I used to help my grandmother tidy up her home. Those joyful moments instilled in me a deep appreciation for cleanliness and organisation. I find that cleaning not only helps me relax but also brings me a sense of happiness and pride. It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that I can positively impact others by creating a tidy and welcoming environment for them.
In my role here, I strive to ensure that our school is a clean and organised space for both children and staff, as I firmly believe that a fresh environment fosters learning and growth. I’m thrilled to be part of Pownall Hall and look forward to continuing to make a difference in our community!
