“There is very strong evidence that people who spend time in the natural world, benefit mentally to an extraordinary degree.” Sir David Attenborough
Supporting positive mental health and connecting with nature is at the heart of our ethos at Pownall Hall School. From gaining a sense of peace and a boost to our self-esteem to improved concentration and psychological restoration. We recognise nature’s unique ability to not only provide positive health benefits but also increase our creativity, empathy and a sense of wonder.
Every day, children are exposed to our vast, green stimulating environment that activates their senses and gives them space and freedom to run and explore! This fascinating landscape develops their curiosity of the natural world which not only encourages them to think, ask questions, reflect and relax but develops creativity and imagination. The natural world inspires children to build unique fairy houses in Forest School, investigate wildlife at the Pownall Pond and take responsibility by caring for our chickens or planting trees and vegetables, to name but a few!
Connecting with nature provides a vast array of benefits; we are incredibly grateful to have the extensive grounds at Pownall Hall School to relish and celebrate this, each and every day.
From mindful nature walks to tree climbing, grounding and meditation to nature-inspired art, poetry and music, we appreciate our surroundings and the remarkable benefits to our health and well-being.
Pownall Hall School is a hidden gem of natural beauty, awe and wonder. What better environment for children’s mental health?
