Forest School

Welcome to Forest School

“The earlier and more often children are exposed to nature, the happier, healthier and brighter they become”.

Our Forest School sits within our 8 glorious acres of grounds and allows learning to be taken outdoors at any opportunity. Here, children are allowed to develop a wide range of skills including confidence, independence, social and risk taking skills with a hands-on approach.

Being outdoors, in the fresh air, gives children a different perspective on life and is hugely beneficial for their well-being. The children often take part in marshmallow toasting, leaf printing, den building and bug hunting but they also have time to just be and play. Whether that be swinging on the rope swing, making mud pies or climbing the trees, Forest School allows the children to feel a sense of freedom and learn who they are and what limitations they may have.

What is Forest School

Forest School is an inspirational process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem, through hands on learning experiences in a local woodland or natural environment with trees. Forest School is a specialised approach that sits within and complements the wider context of outdoor and woodland learning.
