Wellbeing

At Pownall Hall School, pupil wellbeing is central to our ethos. We believe that an excellent education extends beyond the classroom; it involves nurturing the whole child. Our wellness section highlights our commitment to fostering a supportive environment where physical, emotional, and mental health are prioritised. By cultivating an atmosphere of inclusion and kindness, we empower our pupils to thrive academically and socially, ensuring that every child feels valued and inspired to achieve their personal best.

Meet the Pastoral Team

Mrs. Vicky Hayton
Head of Pastoral Care

As Deputy Head, Head of Pastoral Care at Pownall Hall School, I am deeply passionate about creating a safe, nurturing environment where every child can grow and flourish. My door is always open, and I take pride in being the point of contact for parents who may have concerns about their child’s welfare.

As a dedicated pastoral lead, I am committed to supporting the emotional, social and academic needs of our children. With my expertise in Special Educational Needs and dyslexia, I am well-equipped to provide tailored support to help children overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

For me, being part of the Pownall family is a true privilege. I have been able to draw on my experience as an SENCo and Assistant Head to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our children. I am thrilled to be in a role where I can focus on helping our children thrive and am constantly inspired by their resilience, kindness and determination.

If you have any concerns or questions about your child’s welfare, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I am here to listen, support and work collaboratively with you to ensure that your child feels happy, supported and valued at Pownall Hall School.

Form 6 Heads of Pastoral Care and Wellbeing

Eliza & Luca

Eliza

I make sure everyone is being kind to one another and make sure everyone is happy. So far, I have helped deliver food to the food bank for people less fortunate than ourselves. I have helped the lunchtime ladies stack away the chairs in the dining hall, and also help teachers tidy away after lessons. When we have buddy sessions, I make sure that all the Reception children, not just my own buddy, are having a good time. I think I was chosen for the role because I am kind, helpful, always smiling and always very positive. Mr Erian has been really helpful to me in my role; he helps me before assemblies, making sure I am confident when reading the names of the +3 winners.

Luca

In my role, I enjoy making sure everyone is happy and there is no bullying in school. In my role so far, I have been in the Pre-Prep playground to help them play nicely together. Also, in celebration assemblies, myself and the other Head of Pastoral Care, Eliza, read out the +3’s that children have been awarded for Excellent Conduct. Mr Erian has been very helpful to me in my role; he makes sure I am confident to read things out in assemblies. I think I was chosen for the role because I am good at playing with, and involving, all age groups in my games. For example, having the Form 3’s joining in with our games in the snow.
