State-of-the-art Science Laboratory
Pownall Hall has a rich history dating back to 1297 when the estate was first associated with Richard de Pounale. Over the centuries, it passed through notable families, including the Newtons, Worralls, and Boddingtons, with the latter transforming the house into a fine example of the Arts and Crafts movement. The school was originally founded as Wilmslow College in 1895 and relocated to Pownall Hall in 1934, becoming a preparatory school for boys. It expanded over time, introducing a nursery in 1995 and becoming fully co-educational in 1998. Under the leadership of Mr. David Goulbourn from 2014, the school experienced significant growth, surpassing 300 pupils by 2023 and continuing to thrive as a leading independent school.
