Michael Erian
Deputy Head (Academics) | Head of English

Michael Erian is Head of English at Pownall Hall School, where he leads the teaching of English across the school while also serving as Deputy Head (Academics). He holds a BA (Hons) in English and American Literature, an MA in Media Production and a PGCE.

Michael has taught across a range of schools in London, Staffordshire and Cheshire, developing a particular passion for English, reading and writing in all their forms. As Head of English and Deputy Head (Academics), he plays a central role in shaping the school’s academic direction, ensuring high standards, thoughtful curriculum design and a love of learning across all age groups.

He believes that reading, writing and articulate communication are fundamental life skills, supporting not only academic success but wellbeing, confidence and self-expression. Michael is committed to helping children think critically, communicate clearly and engage meaningfully with the world around them.

Christie Farrell-Howes
English Specialist Teacher

Christie Farrell-Howes has been part of the Pownall Hall School team since 2018 and teaches English to pupils in Form 5 and Form 6. As an English specialist, she plays a key role in preparing pupils for the academic demands of senior school and the 11+ process.

Christie focuses on developing confidence and precision in reading, writing and critical thinking, helping pupils to express their ideas clearly and thoughtfully. Her teaching supports pupils in building strong analytical skills, secure exam technique and a genuine appreciation for literature and language.

Through engaging, purposeful lessons, Christie encourages pupils to think independently and approach English with curiosity and confidence. She is committed to ensuring that children leave Pownall Hall well prepared for the next stage of their education, with the skills and self-belief needed to succeed.

Caroline Hyland
Head of Maths

Caroline Hyland joined Pownall Hall School in 2023 and brings extensive experience from both independent and state education, having spent over 17 years working across a range of school settings. She holds a Degree in Primary Education with Sociology and Qualified Teacher Status.

As Head of Maths, Caroline leads the teaching of mathematics with a focus on building strong foundations, confidence and enjoyment of the subject. She works closely with pupils to ensure that learning is accessible, engaging and appropriately challenging, helping children to develop both fluency and problem-solving skills.

Alongside her work in mathematics, Caroline has a strong interest in supporting children’s wider wellbeing, recognising the important connection between confidence, emotional security and academic success. Her calm, supportive approach helps pupils feel capable and assured in their learning.

Caroline values the close-knit community at Pownall Hall and enjoys working in partnership with families to support each child’s progress and development.

Kirsty Dalton
Head of Science

Kirsty Dalton joined Pownall Hall School in 2017 as Specialist Science Teacher and now leads Science across the school. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science from the University of Glasgow and a PGCE in Secondary Science from Kingston University, London.

Following her teacher training, Kirsty spent ten years teaching science at secondary level, specialising in biology and chemistry, and held the role of Head of Biology. She later taught at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls before joining Pownall Hall.

At Pownall, Kirsty teaches science from Form 1 through to Form 6, making full use of the school’s purpose-built science laboratory and extensive grounds. Her lessons place a strong emphasis on practical investigation and hands-on learning, helping pupils to develop curiosity, confidence and a secure understanding of scientific concepts.

With experience spanning both primary and secondary education, Kirsty is committed to inspiring a lifelong interest in science and preparing pupils exceptionally well for future study.

Sharon Johnstone
Head of PE and Games

Sharon Johnstone leads Physical Education and Games at Pownall Hall School and has been part of the school community since 2011. She holds a BA (Hons) in Physical Education with Qualified Teacher Status and brings a wealth of experience in coaching and sport education.

As Head of PE and Games, Sharon oversees sport from Nursery through to Form 6, ensuring that pupils benefit from high-quality teaching, regular fixtures and a strong emphasis on teamwork, resilience and confidence. She is passionate about encouraging children to lead active, healthy lifestyles and to enjoy the sense of achievement that sport can bring.

Sharon’s teaching focuses on skill development, participation and personal growth, providing opportunities for pupils of all abilities to succeed. Through a broad programme of sports, competitions and events, she helps children build physical confidence, self-discipline and a positive attitude towards physical activity.

Jordan Chapman
PE and Games Specialist Teacher

Jordan Chapman joined Pownall Hall School in September 2024 and teaches Physical Education and Games across the school. She holds a BA (Hons) in Physical Education and a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status in Primary Education (ages 5–11) with a PE specialism. She is also a Level 1 Netball Coach and INTO Officiating Netball Umpire.

Jordan brings experience from independent school settings and is passionate about delivering inclusive, high-quality PE and Games. Her approach focuses on building confidence, teamwork and a positive relationship with physical activity, ensuring that every child feels encouraged to participate, regardless of ability.

In her lessons, Jordan places strong emphasis on effort, attitude and personal progress. She is committed to helping pupils develop resilience, self-belief and enjoyment through sport, laying foundations that support both senior school expectations and lifelong healthy habits.

Mr William Cross
Specialist Games Teacher

Will is an experienced Games specialist with a strong background in both teaching and coaching across independent and primary school settings. He holds a PGDE in Secondary Education and has led PE and Games provision at Pownall Hall since 2018, including responsibility for weekly fixtures and competitive sport across the Prep School.

A qualified ECB Level 2 cricket coach, Will has over 15 years’ experience coaching children aged 5 to 15, alongside continued involvement as a committed club cricketer. His sessions are structured, energetic and inclusive, helping children develop skill, teamwork and confidence in a competitive setting.

Will is passionate about inspiring pupils to enjoy sport, represent their school with pride and build habits that support lifelong participation.

David Goulbourn
Games Specialist Teacher

David Goulbourn brings over 25 years of coaching experience across school and club sport, working with children of all ages and abilities. His career includes national success at U11 level in rugby, multiple festival wins, unbeaten seasons and local league championships across football, rugby and athletics.

At Pownall Hall, David is known for his presence on the games field and his ability to motivate children through encouragement, structure and enjoyment of sport. He takes particular pride in seeing pupils develop confidence, resilience and character through physical challenge, whatever their starting point.

David holds Level 2 coaching qualifications in both Rugby and Cricket, alongside a Level 1 FA coaching award, and remains actively involved in competitive sport beyond school.

Mr William Cross
Head of Design and Technology

William Cross joined Pownall Hall School in 2018 and leads Design and Technology across the school. He holds an Undergraduate Degree in Architectural Design and Technology from the University of Salford and a PGDE in Secondary Education from Leeds Metropolitan University.

William began his teaching career in 2014, completing his postgraduate training at a Trafford grammar school before spending five years teaching Design and Technology in a Trafford state school. During this time, he taught at GCSE and AS level, specialising in product design, metalwork and resistant materials.

At Pownall Hall, William teaches Design and Technology from Form 1 through to Form 6. His lessons are practical, purposeful and carefully structured, helping children to think critically, solve problems and develop confidence in using tools, materials and technical processes. He is passionate about giving pupils a strong understanding of how ideas move from concept to creation, while encouraging creativity, adaptability and pride in high-quality outcomes.

Belinda Cutts
Head of Art and Design

Belinda Cutts has been teaching at Pownall Hall School since 2016 and leads Art and Design across the school. She holds a BA (Hons) in History of Art and a PGCE in Primary Education.

As Head of Art and Design, Belinda is passionate about nurturing creativity, imagination and individual expression. She encourages pupils to explore a wide range of artistic techniques and materials, helping them to develop confidence, skill and a strong sense of pride in their work. Her teaching supports both creative freedom and technical understanding, allowing children to produce thoughtful, high-quality outcomes.

Belinda values the role of art in supporting wellbeing, self-expression and confidence, and takes great care in creating an environment where every child feels inspired to experiment and create. She enjoys being part of the Pownall Hall community and working closely with pupils as they develop their artistic voice.

Jennifer Hart
Head of Music and Drama

Jennifer Hart has over 20 years’ experience as a music and drama teacher and joined Pownall Hall School in 2018. She holds a degree in Music from the University of Sheffield and a PGCE in Music, and is a specialist in both classroom teaching and performance-based learning. Her principal instruments are piano and voice.

As Head of Music and Drama, Jennifer leads a vibrant and ambitious programme that places performance, creativity and confidence at its heart. She works with pupils across the school, providing regular opportunities for children to perform, collaborate and express themselves, both on stage and in the classroom.

Jennifer is passionate about the role that music and drama play in building confidence, communication skills and self-belief. She takes great pride in seeing pupils grow in assurance with each performance, whether in assemblies, concerts, productions or classroom activities, and in helping every child find their voice.

Jordan Chapman
Early Years Specialist Music Teacher

Alongside her role in PE and Games, Jordan Chapman leads specialist music sessions within the Early Years and Pre-Prep. She stepped into this role following the departure of a previous specialist and works closely with colleagues to deliver engaging, age-appropriate music provision for younger pupils.

Jordan’s sessions focus on rhythm, movement, listening and participation, supporting children’s coordination, confidence and enjoyment of music in a relaxed and supportive environment. Through singing, action songs and simple musical activities, children are encouraged to join in, express themselves and develop early musical awareness.

Her calm, approachable manner and strong understanding of young children allow her to deliver music sessions that feel purposeful yet playful, complementing the wider Early Years curriculum and supporting children’s early development.

Phil Gregory
Head of IT and Computing

Phil Gregory leads IT and Computing at Pownall Hall School and brings a strong academic and specialist background to the role. He holds a BA (Hons) in English and Creative Writing, a PGCE specialising in IT and Computing from Edge Hill University, and is both a Qualified Apple Teacher and a National STEM Centre qualified facilitator.

Phil has worked internationally as an education consultant, sharing innovative approaches to technology and STEM education across a range of settings. His experience has shaped a teaching style that combines creativity, technical skill and real-world application.

At Pownall Hall, Phil teaches IT and Computing alongside PSHE, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning and Humanities. He is passionate about introducing pupils to hands-on technology projects and encouraging them to think critically, solve problems and explore creative solutions through computing.

Phil’s approach helps pupils develop confidence and curiosity in an increasingly digital world, equipping them with essential skills for future learning and life beyond school.

Nathalie Pettecrew
Head of Modern Foreign Languages

Nathalie Pettecrew leads Modern Foreign Languages at Pownall Hall School and has been part of the school community since 2013. She holds an MA and PGCE and brings experience from both secondary and primary education.

As a French national, Nathalie has lived and studied in Germany before moving to England, giving her first-hand experience of the cultural and practical value of learning languages. Her teaching career began in secondary schools, where she developed strong subject expertise, before moving into primary education, where she found her passion for teaching younger learners.

At Pownall Hall, Nathalie teaches French and German across the school, creating engaging, enjoyable lessons that build pupils’ confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing. She places a strong emphasis on communication, pronunciation and cultural understanding, helping children develop both linguistic skill and enthusiasm for languages.

Nathalie is committed to inspiring curiosity and confidence, ensuring pupils see languages as a valuable and enjoyable part of their education.

David Goulbourn
Head of History

David Goulbourn is Head of History at Pownall Hall School, where he teaches history across the Prep School alongside his role as Headmaster. He holds a BA (Hons) in History and a PGCE with distinction.

David has taught throughout his career in independent preparatory schools and has held senior leadership roles including Head, Deputy Head and Director of Studies. His teaching reflects a deep passion for history, with particular interest in bringing historical periods and characters to life in ways that engage and inspire young learners.

As a history specialist, David encourages pupils to think critically, ask thoughtful questions and develop a strong understanding of the past and its relevance to the present. His lessons combine academic rigour with curiosity and discussion, helping children to build confidence in analysis, writing and debate.

David’s dual role as teacher and Headmaster ensures that academic standards, depth of subject knowledge and a love of learning remain central to school life at Pownall Hall.

Suzanne Major
Forest School Lead

Suzanne Major leads Forest School at Pownall Hall School and brings a strong commitment to outdoor learning and environmental education. She is a Level 3 qualified Forest School Practitioner, having gained her qualification in 2019 through Cambian Sustainable, and has worked in education for over nine years.

As Forest School Lead, Suzanne delivers regular outdoor learning sessions that support children’s confidence, independence and connection with the natural world. Her work encourages curiosity, teamwork and resilience, providing pupils with opportunities to explore, problem-solve and take appropriate risks in a safe and supportive environment.

Alongside Forest School, Suzanne leads the school Eco Club, where pupils engage in sustainability projects and learn about caring for their environment. Through this work, children develop a strong sense of responsibility and pride in contributing positively to the school community.

Suzanne is passionate about creating meaningful outdoor experiences that support wellbeing, creativity and personal growth, helping pupils to enjoy learning beyond the classroom.

Vicky Hayton
Head of SEND

Vicky Hayton is Head of SEND at Pownall Hall School and brings extensive experience supporting children with a wide range of learning needs. She holds specialist qualifications in Special Educational Needs and Dyslexia, including the National Award for SEN Coordination and AMBDA accreditation as a specialist dyslexia teacher and assessor.

Vicky’s interest in SEND developed through both professional experience and personal insight, leading her to develop deep expertise in identifying and supporting individual learning profiles. Prior to joining Pownall Hall School in 2023, she held SENCo and senior leadership roles within independent education.

As Head of SEND, Vicky works closely with teachers, families and external professionals to ensure that support is carefully tailored, proportionate and responsive. Her approach focuses on early identification, clear communication and high expectations, enabling pupils to access the curriculum confidently and make strong progress alongside their peers.

Vicky is committed to ensuring that learning support at Pownall Hall is integrated seamlessly into school life. She values partnership with families and believes that understanding each child as an individual is key to helping them thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Candice Kossowska
Learning Support Teacher

Candice Kossowska is a Learning Support Teacher at Pownall Hall School and holds a BA (Hons) in Primary Education from Edge Hill University. She joined the school in 2017 and has taught across Reception, Form 1 and Form 2.

Candice has extensive experience supporting children at the beginning of their school journey and has a strong understanding of early learning, development and transition. Her classroom experience allows her to provide effective, practical support that enables pupils to access the curriculum with confidence.

As a Learning Support Teacher, Candice works closely with pupils and teaching staff to provide tailored support that promotes independence, wellbeing and positive learning habits. She takes great pride in supporting children as they grow in confidence and enjoys seeing pupils she has worked with progress successfully through to the later years of Prep School.

Georgia Flynn
EYFS SEND Coordinator

Georgia Flynn is the EYFS SEND Coordinator at Pownall Hall School and brings extensive experience across Early Years education. She holds an Early Years degree with Qualified Teacher Status and has been part of the Pownall Hall community for over 16 years.

Georgia has worked across Nursery, Kindergarten, Reception and Form 1, giving her a deep understanding of early childhood development and the varying pathways children may take as they begin their education. Her broad experience allows her to identify emerging needs sensitively and support children at an early stage, ensuring they access learning confidently and positively.

As EYFS SEND Coordinator, Georgia works closely with teaching staff, families and the wider SEND team to provide developmentally appropriate support that is carefully tailored to each child. Her approach focuses on early identification, close observation and strong partnership with parents, ensuring that support is integrated naturally into everyday classroom life.

Georgia is passionate about helping every child feel secure, understood and valued. She believes that strong foundations in the Early Years are key to long-term success and takes pride in supporting children to thrive both academically and emotionally during their earliest years at Pownall Hall School.

Charlotte Holleran
EYFS SEND Coordinator

Charlotte Holleran is the EYFS SEND Coordinator at Pownall Hall School and holds a degree in Teaching, Learning and Mentoring from Edge Hill University.

Charlotte began her career supporting a child from Reception through to Year 6, gaining valuable experience in developing individual strategies and supporting long-term progress across the primary years. During this time, she worked closely with a range of external professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists, building a strong understanding of multi-disciplinary support.

Since joining Pownall Hall School in 2022, Charlotte has worked closely with Early Years staff and families to support early identification and appropriate intervention. Her approach focuses on understanding each child’s individual needs and ensuring that support within EYFS is sensitive, proportionate and developmentally appropriate.

Charlotte values collaboration and clear communication, believing that strong partnerships between school and home are essential in supporting children during their earliest years of learning.

Jennifer Hart
Form 6H Teacher

Jennifer Hart is Form Teacher for 6H and plays a key role in supporting pupils during their final year at Pownall Hall School. With a calm, encouraging approach, she helps pupils develop confidence, independence and a strong sense of responsibility as they prepare for the transition to senior school.

As a form teacher, Jennifer places great emphasis on pastoral care, wellbeing and clear communication with families. She works closely with pupils to support them academically and personally, guiding them through the expectations of Form 6 and the wider demands of Prep School life.

Alongside her pastoral role, Jennifer is Head of Music and Drama, which gives her valuable insight into pupils’ creativity, confidence and self-expression. This broader perspective supports her work as a form teacher, allowing her to nurture each child’s strengths and encourage them to approach new challenges with assurance.

Phil Gregory
Form 6H Teacher

Phil Gregory supports pupils in Form 6H, working closely with the form team to guide children through a pivotal year of their Prep School journey. He plays an important role in supporting pupils’ academic focus, confidence and organisation as they prepare for senior school assessments.

As a form teacher, Phil offers calm, consistent guidance, helping pupils manage the demands of Form 6 and the 11+ process with reassurance and clarity. He encourages independence, resilience and thoughtful preparation, ensuring that pupils feel supported both academically and personally.

Alongside his pastoral role, Phil is Head of IT and Computing and teaches a range of academic subjects across the school. This broad perspective allows him to support pupils with effective study habits, problem-solving skills and confidence in their learning, all of which are invaluable during this final year at Pownall Hall.

Nathalie Pettecrew
Form 4P Teacher

Nathalie Pettecrew is Form Teacher for 4P and plays an important role in supporting pupils during a key stage of their Prep School journey. She brings a calm, encouraging presence to the classroom and places strong value on building positive relationships with both pupils and families.

As a form teacher, Nathalie focuses on developing confidence, responsibility and independence, ensuring that children feel supported academically and personally. She works closely with pupils to help them navigate the demands of Prep School life, while maintaining a warm and nurturing environment.

Alongside her pastoral role, Nathalie is Head of Modern Foreign Languages, which gives her a broad understanding of pupils’ learning styles and strengths. This perspective allows her to support each child holistically, encouraging progress, resilience and enjoyment of learning.

Isabel Broughton
Teaching Assistant – Form 6

Isabel Broughton has been part of the Pownall Hall School community since October 2015 and supports pupils in Form 6. She holds a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning and brings extensive experience working with children across Key Stages.

Before joining Pownall Hall, Isabel spent over 15 years working as a classroom assistant in a primary school setting, supporting pupils academically and pastorally. This experience has given her a strong understanding of how children learn, develop confidence and prepare for the transition to senior school.

At Pownall, Isabel works closely with pupils and teachers to provide calm, consistent support, helping children to stay focused, organised and confident in their learning. She is particularly skilled at working with small groups and individuals, offering encouragement and challenge to help pupils achieve their best.

Kirsty Dalton
Form 5D Teacher

Kirsty Dalton is Form Teacher for 5D and plays an important role in supporting pupils as they progress through the upper years of Prep School. She brings a thoughtful, structured approach to pastoral care, ensuring that pupils feel supported, confident and well prepared for the increasing academic demands of Form 5.

As a form teacher, Kirsty focuses on building positive relationships, encouraging independence and helping pupils develop strong organisational and study skills. She works closely with pupils and families to support both academic progress and personal wellbeing during this important stage of school life.

Alongside her pastoral role, Kirsty is Head of Science at Pownall Hall School, which gives her a strong understanding of the academic expectations pupils will encounter as they prepare for senior school. William Cross
Form 5C Teacher

William Cross is Form Teacher for 5C and has been a member of the Pownall Hall staff since 2018. He is an experienced teacher with a strong understanding of pupils’ academic and personal development as they move through the Prep School.

As a form teacher, William places great emphasis on building positive relationships, supporting confidence and encouraging independence. He works closely with pupils and families to ensure that each child feels supported, motivated and ready to embrace the opportunities of Prep School life.

Alongside his form teacher role, William is a specialist teacher of Design Technology and Physical Education, which gives him a broad perspective on children’s strengths, interests and learning styles. This enables him to support pupils holistically, balancing academic progress with wellbeing and personal growth.

Phillipa Marshall
Form 4DM Teacher

Phillipa Marshall is Form Teacher for 4DM and has been part of the Pownall Hall School community since 2015. She holds a BSc in Psychology and a PGSE, and brings over a decade of teaching experience across a range of schools in the UK.

Phillipa has taught across Key Stages 1, 2 and 3, giving her a strong understanding of pupils’ academic and developmental journeys as they move through Prep School. Her experience allows her to support children effectively during Form 4, a key stage where confidence, organisation and independence become increasingly important.

As a form teacher, Phillipa places great value on building positive relationships and fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom environment. She is particularly passionate about English and enjoys encouraging pupils to develop confidence in reading, writing and self-expression.

Phillipa values the close sense of family and community at Pownall Hall and takes pride in supporting pupils and families as children grow and thrive within the school.

Olivia Dawber
Form 4DM Teacher

Olivia Dawber is a Form Teacher in 4DM and brings a strong commitment to creating engaging, supportive learning environments where children feel motivated and confident. Her background in coaching and education has shaped a thoughtful, encouraging approach to teaching and pastoral care.

Before joining Pownall Hall School, Olivia spent ten years as a swimming coach, working with elite teams at Stockport Metro and Cheadle Hulme School. This experience developed her skills in mentorship, leadership and motivation, which she now brings into the classroom. She later moved into education, teaching in a community primary school in Oldham and working with pupils across Years 3, 4 and 5.

As a form teacher, Olivia places great emphasis on supporting pupils’ academic progress alongside their personal development. She takes pride in guiding children as they build confidence, resilience and independence, particularly during the important middle years of Prep School.

Olivia values working closely with pupils and families, and is passionate about helping every child feel supported as they grow and achieve their potential.

Mark Dawes
Teaching Assistant - Form 4DM

Mark Dawes has been part of the Pownall Hall School community since 2013 and supports pupils in Form 4DM. He plays an important role in the classroom, working closely with teachers and pupils to support learning, confidence and engagement.

Alongside his work as a teaching assistant, Mark is actively involved in supporting sport and fixtures, contributing to the wider life of the school. His enthusiasm and commitment help pupils to develop confidence both academically and physically, reinforcing teamwork, resilience and positive attitudes to learning.

Mark is a valued member of the Pownall team and takes pride in supporting pupils as they progress through Prep School, helping them to feel encouraged, motivated and supported in all aspects of school life.

Rachel Bills
Teaching Assistant – Form 4DM

Rachel Bills joined Pownall Hall School in 2025 and supports pupils in Form 4DM. She brings valuable experience in supporting children within the classroom and works closely with teaching staff to contribute to both academic progress and pastoral care.

Rachel plays an important role within the Form 4 team, providing calm, consistent support and helping to create a positive learning environment for all pupils. She is a valued member of the Prep School team and contributes to the supportive, inclusive ethos of Pownall Hall School.

Alisha Meakin
Form 4M Teacher

Alisha Meakin is Form Teacher for 4M and joined Pownall Hall School in October 2022. She holds a BA (Hons) in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status and an MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Since joining Pownall, Alisha has worked across the school, gaining experience in a range of year groups before moving into her current role within the Prep department. She has also taught as a Maths specialist, giving her particular strength and confidence in supporting pupils’ mathematical understanding and problem-solving skills.

As a form teacher, Alisha places great emphasis on wellbeing, confidence and emotional resilience alongside academic progress. Her background in mental health and wellbeing supports a thoughtful, nurturing approach, ensuring pupils feel secure, supported and ready to engage fully with their learning.

Alisha is passionate about helping children develop both academic confidence and personal resilience, and takes pride in supporting each pupil’s progress during this important stage of Prep School life.

Jackie Bruce

Teaching Assistant – Form 4M

Jackie Bruce has been part of the Pownall Hall School community since September 2015 and supports pupils in Form 4M. She brings over 25 years of experience working with children, having previously spent 15 years in a state school setting before joining Pownall.

Jackie holds recognised qualifications in childcare, including the NNEB Diploma and NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, providing a strong foundation for her work supporting pupils both academically and pastorally. Since joining Pownall, she has worked across Pre-Prep and Prep, giving her a broad understanding of children’s development as they move through school.

Sarah Hope
Form 3HB Teacher

Sarah Hope is Form Teacher for 3HB and brings over 20 years of teaching experience to her role. She studied Linguistics at the University of Manchester and has taught across a wide range of year groups in primary education.

Sarah began her teaching career in 2002 at a village school in Nantwich, teaching Year 6, before moving to a primary school in Manchester where she taught pupils from Nursery through to Year 6. This breadth of experience has given her a strong understanding of children’s academic and pastoral development as they progress through school.

Since joining Pownall Hall School in 2020, Sarah has become a valued member of the Prep team. She has a particular passion for English, alongside teaching RE, Humanities and PSHE, and enjoys supporting pupils as they develop confidence, curiosity and a love of learning.

As a form teacher, Sarah values strong relationships with pupils and families and takes pride in creating a supportive, nurturing environment in which children feel encouraged to achieve their best.

Victoria Jackson
Teaching Assistant - Form 3

Victoria Jackson supports pupils in Form 3 and has been part of the Pownall Hall School community since 2013. She brings extensive experience in childcare and education, with a strong understanding of how to support children’s academic progress, confidence and wellbeing.

Victoria works closely with teachers and pupils in the classroom, providing calm, consistent support and helping children to engage fully with their learning. She is skilled at working with individuals and small groups, offering encouragement and reassurance to help pupils build confidence and resilience.

As a teaching assistant, Victoria values positive relationships and clear communication, ensuring that children feel supported and secure during the early years of Prep School. She takes pride in helping pupils develop independence and a positive approach to learning.

Amelia Kasmi
Form 3K Teacher

Amelia Kasmi is Form Teacher for 3K and brings a strong academic and creative background to her role. She holds a BA (Hons), MA, and a PGCE with a specialism in Primary French.

Before entering teaching, Amelia worked in the Arts Education sector, delivering opera, orchestral music and singing projects to young people across the North of England. This experience shaped her creative approach to learning and her belief in the importance of engagement, expression and confidence in the classroom.

Amelia has taught in primary schools across a wide age range, from Reception through to Year 6, and has experience teaching modern foreign languages alongside her classroom role. This breadth of experience supports a well-rounded approach to teaching and pastoral care.

As a form teacher, Amelia is committed to creating a positive, supportive environment where children feel encouraged to explore, participate and grow in confidence. She values working closely with pupils and families to support each child’s academic and personal development during the early years of Prep School.

Nicola Conquest
Teaching Assistant – Form 3K

Nicola Conquest has been part of the Pownall Hall School community since 2006 and supports pupils in Form 3K. During her time at the school, she has worked in a range of roles, developing a deep understanding of children’s learning and pastoral needs.

Nicola is a familiar, trusted presence within the school and plays an important role in supporting pupils both academically and personally. Her long-standing experience and knowledge of school life contribute to a calm, supportive classroom environment.

Jacqueline Ward
Form 2W Teacher

Jacqueline Ward is Form Teacher for 2W and joined Pownall Hall School in 2021. She holds a BSc in Microbiology and a PGCE in Primary Education, and brings extensive experience from the independent sector.

Jacqueline began her teaching career at Terra Nova Prep School in Cheshire, where she taught across Key Stages 1 and 2. During her time there, she held a number of senior responsibilities, including Year 3 and 4 Coordinator, Assistant Head of Juniors and Assistant Head of Academics, with responsibility for developing the school’s Higher Learning Potential Programme.

She has also worked closely with Chester University and Manchester Metropolitan University as an Initial Teacher Training Professional Mentor, supporting and overseeing student teachers during their school-based placements.

As a form teacher, Jacqueline brings a thoughtful, structured approach to learning and pastoral care, ensuring that children in Form 2 build strong academic foundations alongside confidence and independence. She enjoys contributing to the continued development of Pownall Hall and supporting pupils during this important stage of their Prep School journey.

Abigail Ellis
Teaching Assistant – Form 2W

Abigail Ellis supports pupils in Form 2W and joined Pownall Hall School in 2023. She holds a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning and brings a strong commitment to supporting children’s academic and emotional development.

Abigail began her career working in Early Years at Pownall before moving into Prep School, where she has supported pupils through key stages of transition. Her experience has given her a strong understanding of how children adapt from a play-based curriculum to a more structured academic timetable.

As a teaching assistant, Abigail works closely with pupils to provide consistent encouragement and emotional support, helping children feel secure, confident and ready to engage with learning. Charlotte Reppe
Form 2R Teacher

Charlotte Reppe is Form Teacher for 2R and joined Pownall Hall School in 2020. She holds a BA (Hons) in English Language and Childhood Studies and a PGCE in Primary Education.

Charlotte began her teaching career in 2014 at a state primary school in South Manchester, where she gained valuable experience working across Key Stage 1. Since joining Pownall, she has taught a range of subjects across the school, including English, Humanities and Religious Education, with a particular focus on teaching in Forms 1 and 2.

As a form teacher, Charlotte places great emphasis on nurturing a love of learning, supporting confidence and ensuring that children feel secure as they develop academically and socially. She values strong relationships with pupils and families and enjoys supporting children as they build independence during the early years of Prep School.

Ruth Shorrock
Teaching Assistant – Form 2R

Ruth Shorrock supports pupils in Form 2R and has been part of the Pownall Hall School community since February 2006. She holds a National Nursery Examination Board (CACHE) Diploma and brings over 30 years of experience working with children aged 0–16.

Ruth began her career working in nurseries before moving into primary education, developing a strong understanding of children’s learning and pastoral needs across a wide age range. At Pownall, she has worked in both Kindergarten and Prep, supporting pupils as they grow and progress through school.

As a teaching assistant, Ruth provides calm, consistent support in the classroom and takes great pride in helping children develop confidence, independence and enjoyment of learning. Her long-standing experience and familiarity with school life make her a valued and trusted member of the team.

Katherine Lowther
Form 1L Teacher

Katherine Lowther is Form Teacher for 1L and brings extensive experience across the early and lower Prep years. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Biology with Qualified Teacher Status and has taught across a wide range of age groups from Kindergarten through to Year 6.

Katherine began her teaching career in 1994 and has worked in both state and independent schools, including senior leadership roles. Her broad classroom experience gives her a deep understanding of children’s academic and developmental needs as they transition into the more structured demands of Prep School.

As a Form 1 teacher, Katherine places strong emphasis on building secure foundations in learning, confidence and independence. Heather Somers
Teaching Assistant – Form 1L

Heather Somers supports pupils in Form 1L and joined Pownall Hall School in September 2025. She holds a BA (Hons) in Childhood Studies (First Class), a Foundation Degree in Working with Children and Young People (Distinction), a BTEC National Diploma in Childhood Studies (Distinction), and a Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead qualification.

Heather brings over 11 years of experience across both independent and state education, including ten years working in a highly academic preparatory school supporting Key Stages 1 and 2. She also has experience in a state secondary setting, where she supported pupils pastorally and worked as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

Heather has particular expertise in supporting children with additional needs, including Autism and ADHD, and is skilled in using structured, practical strategies to promote inclusion, wellbeing and academic success within the classroom.

As a teaching assistant, Heather is committed to balancing high academic expectations with strong pastoral support, ensuring children feel secure, understood and confident as they progress through the early Prep years. She values close partnership with families and brings both professional insight and personal understanding of the independent school journey.

Nicola Erian
Form 1E Teacher

Nicola Erian is Form Teacher for 1E and joined Pownall Hall School in 2024. She holds a BA (Hons) in English, Film and Drama and Qualified Teacher Status, and brings experience from both independent and state schools in London, Cheshire and Staffordshire.

Nicola has taught across a wide range of year groups during her career and has a particular passion for English and drama. She values the role that creative approaches play in developing children’s confidence, communication skills and character, and incorporates drama thoughtfully into her teaching where appropriate.

As a Form 1 teacher, Nicola focuses on supporting pupils as they settle into Prep School, helping them build strong foundations in learning, independence and self-belief. Teaching Assistant – Form 1E

Shelley Gregory supports pupils in Form 1E and joined Pownall Hall School in 2023. She holds a BA (Hons) in Fine Art and a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, and brings a strong blend of pastoral care and creativity to her role.

Shelley has supported children in a variety of educational settings, including the state and independent sectors, with particular experience working one-to-one and supporting pupils with additional needs. Her background in Fine Art allows her to bring creativity into the classroom, supporting learning across the curriculum and contributing to school productions.

As a teaching assistant in Form 1, Shelley plays an important role in helping pupils settle into Prep School life, supporting both their academic progress and growing confidence. Georgia Flynn
Reception F Teacher

Georgia Flynn is Form Teacher for Reception F and brings extensive experience across the Early Years and lower Prep stages. She holds an Early Years degree with Qualified Teacher Status and has been part of the Pownall Hall School community for over 16 years.

Georgia joined Pownall Hall as a Reception Teacher and has since taught across Reception, Kindergarten and Form 1. This breadth of experience gives her a strong understanding of where children are coming from and where they are heading, enabling her to support each child confidently as they make the important transition into school life.

As a Reception teacher, Georgia focuses on creating a warm, secure and stimulating classroom environment where children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning. Sarah Booker supports pupils in Reception F and holds Level 2 and Level 3 CACHE qualifications in Childcare and Education (Early Years).

Sarah joined Pownall Hall School as part of the founding team for the Robin Room and spent two years working within Early Years, developing strong experience in supporting young children through their earliest stages of school life. She later moved into the Heron Room before joining the Reception team in September 2025.

As a Reception teaching assistant, Sarah is passionate about helping children learn through play, creativity and exploration. Camilla Ashworth

Camilla Ashworth is Form Teacher for Reception A and joined Pownall Hall School in 2023. She holds a BA (Hons) in Primary Education, with a specialism in Early Years and Mathematics.

Gillian Greig supports pupils in Reception A and joined Pownall Hall School in 2018. She holds a CACHE Diploma, having trained in both Nottingham and Manchester.

My name is Megan Gregory and I am Head of Kindergarten at Pownall Hall School. Our Kindergarten comprises the Heron, Nightingale and Kingfisher rooms and provides a nurturing, stimulating environment for our preschool children.

I have taught at Pownall since 2014, working across both Kindergarten and Reception. Prior to completing my PGCE at Edge Hill University, I worked within the Kindergarten as a Teaching Assistant, which gave me a strong foundation in Early Years practice. Pownall has played a significant role in my life, both professionally and personally, and I am proud to oversee the continued development of our thriving Kindergarten provision.

Working in Early Years is where I am happiest. I enjoy creating new experiences for children and supporting them as they develop confidence, curiosity and independence. Seeing children master new skills, overcome challenges and experience learning with joy is incredibly rewarding.

My name is Libby Passant and I am the Kingfisher Room Lead at Pownall Hall School. I hold a BA (Hons) in Primary Education from Manchester Metropolitan University.

My name is Jessica Pattison and I am the Nightingales Room Lead at Pownall Hall School. I joined Pownall in 2018 while studying for my BA (Hons) in Early Childhood, qualifying as an Early Years Teacher in 2023.

I have over 16 years’ experience working with children aged 3–4, which has always been my passion. I love that every day in Early Years is different and that I can play a meaningful role in supporting children’s learning and development.

Whether teaching new skills or providing opportunities for children to explore and thrive, I find working in Early Years both rewarding and fulfilling.

Judith Earl
Herons Room Lead | EYFS Teacher

My name is Judith Earl and I began my career at Pownall Hall School in 1995. I have spent many years working with our youngest children and became Herons Room Lead in 2024, supporting our three-year-olds.

I am deeply inspired by nature and believe that time outdoors plays a vital role in children’s wellbeing and development. In Herons, we follow a nature-led curriculum, taking full advantage of Pownall’s beautiful grounds to encourage curiosity, calm and connection with the world around us.

I also embrace the concept of hygge in our environment, creating a space that feels warm, calm and welcoming. Through gentle routines, natural materials and a sense of togetherness, I aim to create an environment where children feel safe, content and ready to explore.

Michelle Speight
Deputy Room Lead – Herons | EYFS Practitioner

My name is Michelle Speight and I have been part of the Pownall Hall School community since 1999, working closely with the Early Years team.

My role has always centred on helping children feel happy, secure and settled. I have a particular interest in supporting children who find separation from their carers challenging, using familiar comforts and family connections to help them feel reassured and confident in their new environment.

Sacha Smith
Kindergarten Key Person | EYFS Practitioner

My name is Sacha Smith and I joined Pownall Hall School in 2023, working within the Kingfisher Room. I studied at Edge Hill University, graduating with a 2:1 degree, and have experience working with children across a range of schools through agency work, including supporting children with additional needs.

Early Years is my favourite stage to work in, as every day brings new opportunities for children to learn, grow and explore. I find it incredibly rewarding to be part of each child’s journey and to support their development in a nurturing and positive environment.

Helen Eckersley
EYFS Practitioner

My name is Helen Eckersley and I have worked at Pownall Hall School since 2007 as an Early Years Practitioner.

I am passionate about supporting young children and enjoy building strong, trusting relationships with both children and families. I find it especially rewarding to support children during the early stages of their Pownall journey and to watch their confidence and independence grow.

Before joining Pownall, I worked across a range of school and pre-school settings, including SEN provision, and spent time at an international pre-school in Athens. These experiences have strengthened my understanding of Early Years education and the importance of nurturing each child as an individual.

Georgia Flynn
Head of Early Years

My name is Georgia Flynn and I am Head of Early Years at Pownall Hall School. I oversee our Woodland Nursery and Kindergarten provision, supporting children from their earliest months through to Reception and ensuring a calm, nurturing and developmentally rich start to school life.

I hold an Early Years degree with Qualified Teacher Status and have been part of the Pownall Hall community for over 16 years. During this time, I have taught across Nursery, Kindergarten, Reception and Form 1, giving me a deep understanding of early childhood development and the progression children make as they move through the Early Years.

As Head of Early Years, I work closely with staff and families to ensure that every child feels safe, secure and valued. I place strong emphasis on early identification of individual needs, high-quality provision and positive partnerships with parents, ensuring that each child is supported to develop confidence, independence and a love of learning.

Olivia Morton
Head of Woodland Nursery | Deputy Head of Early Years

My name is Olivia Morton and I am Head of Woodland Nursery and Deputy Head of Early Years at Pownall Hall School. I lead our Woodland Nursery provision, including the Robin Room, supporting our youngest children as they begin their Pownall journey.

I have worked in education since the age of eighteen, beginning my career as an apprentice working with children aged 0–4. I later gained valuable experience within an independent SEND school, supporting children and young people aged 5–19. These experiences have shaped my calm, nurturing approach and my strong belief in the importance of early relationships, consistency and individual care.

Working in Early Years is my passion, and I feel very fortunate to do so within the unique and inspiring setting of Pownall Hall. I place great importance on building strong relationships with both children and families, creating an environment where children feel safe, secure and confident to explore and develop.

As part of the Early Years leadership team, I work closely with colleagues to ensure that our youngest children receive the highest standard of care and provision, giving them the very best foundations for their future learning.

Kerry Motler
Barn Owl Room Lead

Early Years education is a real passion of mine and I am proud to be part of the Pownall Hall School community. I have worked in Early Years for over ten years and bring a wealth of experience to my role as Barn Owl Room Lead.

Creating safe, secure and enabling environments is fundamental to my practice. I believe children learn best through play and exploration, and I enjoy providing opportunities that spark curiosity, imagination and a sense of wonder. My name is Clair Woods and I joined Pownall Hall School in September 2018. I initially worked as a Teaching Assistant in Reception before moving into the Woodland Nursery in April 2022 as an Early Years Practitioner.

I am currently based in the Tawny Owls Room, working on an all-year-round basis. Prior to joining Pownall, I worked in a nursery setting and at another local school as a Teaching and Learning Support Assistant.

I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning, and I find Early Years incredibly rewarding. Supporting children as they grow in confidence, independence and curiosity is at the heart of my role and the reason I love working with young children.

Olivia Morton

Hello, I’m Miss Olivia and I am very proud to be the Robin Room Lead at Pownall Hall School.

I have worked with children since the age of 18, beginning my career as an apprentice supporting children aged 0–4. I later gained valuable experience working within an independent SEND school, supporting children and young people aged 5–19. This broadened my understanding of child development and the importance of meeting each child’s individual needs from the very start.

Working in Early Years has always been my passion, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such a warm and nurturing environment here at Pownall. Robin Room Deputy Room Lead | EYFS Teacher

Hello, I’m Miss Vicky and I am delighted to be part of the Robin Room team at Pownall Hall School.

I studied Performance for Stage and Screen at Sheffield Hallam University, graduating in 2014, and I continue to enjoy both watching and taking part in productions in my spare time. I have worked with children and young people for over ten years, with my passion for Early Years beginning during my time working at a summer camp in America. This was followed by an unforgettable experience working with babies and toddlers while employed by Disney Cruise Line.

In 2022, I returned fully to Early Years education and qualified as an Early Years Teacher in 2023. I feel incredibly privileged to support children during such an important stage of their development and to work closely with families as their children take their very first steps in education. Watching children settle, thrive and grow in confidence brings me enormous joy.

Joanne Hudson
Robin Room Key Person | EYFS Practitioner

My name is Jo Hudson and I joined the Pownall family in September 2022 as part of the Robin Room team.

I have always been passionate about supporting children’s development and creating meaningful learning experiences that meet each child’s individual needs. After gaining a degree in Psychology from Manchester Metropolitan University, I worked within Social Services, specialising in residential and outreach support for children and families.

Following the birth of my own children, my interest in Early Years deepened and I went on to work in playgroups, pre-schools and private day nurseries. I achieved my NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and have since continued to develop my understanding of child development. I find it fascinating how every child grows in their own way and how the right environment, stimulation and care can support them to flourish.

Milly Gorski
Robin Room Key Person | EYFS Practitioner

Hello, I’m Miss Milly and I am delighted to be part of the Robin Room team at Pownall Hall School.

I have been working with children for over five years, beginning my career in a nursery setting before moving into a primary school as a teaching assistant. During this time, I achieved my Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning and gained experience across the EYFS, including both nursery and reception.

I am currently in my third year of a BA (Hons) in Early Childhood and Education Studies, which continues to strengthen my knowledge of child development and best practice in Early Years education. I feel very lucky to be continuing my journey at Pownall and particularly enjoy building strong, trusting relationships with children and their families as they begin their school experience.

Mollie Bennett
Early Years Practitioner

Hello, I’m Miss Mollie and I am very happy to be part of the Robin Room team at Pownall Hall School.

I have worked in Early Years since the age of 17, beginning my journey in a nursery setting where I completed my Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education. Alongside this, I have experience working with older children as a gymnastics and trampolining coach, as well as teaching at a summer camp in America – an experience that further deepened my love for working with children.

Returning to Early Years felt like a natural step, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be continuing my career at Pownall. I love creating warm, positive relationships with children and their families and supporting each child as they grow in confidence, independence and curiosity. I am really looking forward to getting to know you all.

Millie Thompson
Wren Room Lead | EYFS Practitioner

My name is Millie Thompson and I am the Room Leader of the Wren Room at Pownall Hall School.

During my time studying at Manchester University, I worked as a private nanny, where my passion for childcare truly flourished. Having lived in Wilmslow my whole life, Pownall Hall was always a school I admired, and I had hoped from an early stage that this would be where my career would begin.

I joined Pownall in 2022 and gained my Level 3 Childcare Workforce qualification while learning on the job and working alongside the experienced and supportive Early Years team. I find enormous joy in caring for our youngest children, watching them grow, develop and form secure attachments during their time in the Wren Room, before continuing confidently along their Pownall journey.

Emma Parker
Wren Room Key Person | EYFS Practitioner

Hello, I’m Miss Emma and I have been part of the Pownall Hall family since February 2025.

I have spent my time at Pownall working in the Robin Room, which has been a wonderful experience, and I am very much looking forward to continuing my work with babies as part of the Wren Room team. I am a Level 3 Early Years Practitioner and also hold a Level 3 qualification in Forest School Leadership.

With over 12 years’ experience working in childcare, I am extremely passionate about supporting young children during these vital early stages of development. I feel incredibly grateful to work in a role where I can make a meaningful difference every day, nurturing children as they grow, develop and achieve important milestones.

Rachel Ovens
Wren Room Key Person | EYFS Practitioner

Hello, my name is Miss Rachel and I am delighted to be part of the Wren Room team at Pownall Hall School.

I hold a Level 3 CACHE NNEB Diploma in Nursery Nursing and a Level 4 BTEC HNC in Early Childhood Studies, and I have over 25 years’ experience working with children aged 0–4 across a wide range of Early Years settings. This includes roles supporting children with additional needs and working as a nursery department manager.

Most recently, I worked as an Early Years Worker for Stockport NHS Foundation Trust within the Health Visiting Team. This role involved running child development clinics, delivering early intervention groups, supporting families with behaviour, speech and language development, sleep and toilet training, and promoting health and safety within the community.

Amy Doyle
Wren Room Key Person | EYFS Practitioner

My name is Miss Amy and I am delighted to have joined Pownall Hall School as an Early Years Practitioner in the Wren Room.

Before joining Pownall, I worked as a nanny and as an Early Years Practitioner in a nursery setting, where I also gained my Level 3 qualification. I am truly passionate about working with young children and find great joy in supporting them as they learn, grow and thrive during these important early years.

I am very much looking forward to building strong relationships with both children and families and being part of the nurturing, supportive environment that makes the Wren Room such a special place.

Outside of work, I enjoy running and spending time with family and friends, whether that is on days out together or enjoying time away.

Amanda Turner
Wren Room Key Person | EYFS Practitioner

Hello, my name is Miss Amanda and I am one of the Early Years Practitioners in the Wren Room at Pownall Hall School.

With over 32 years’ experience working in childcare, I bring a depth of knowledge, professionalism and passion for early childhood development that strongly aligns with the Woodland Nursery’s nurturing, child-centred ethos. Throughout my career, I have worked with children aged 0–11 across a range of roles, developing a strong understanding of the EYFS framework and how children learn best through a balance of structured and play-based experiences.

I am particularly committed to creating nature-rich, engaging environments, and I believe children thrive when they are given the freedom to explore, observe and learn within the natural world. This makes Pownall’s Woodland Nursery approach especially meaningful to me.

Outside of school, I am a parent to two children and enjoy spending time together as a family, particularly on long walks with our two dogs around Styal Woods.

Chantelle Winwood
Early Years Practitioner

Chantelle joined Pownall Hall School in 2025 as part of the expansion of our Woodland Nursery and the launch of the Wren Room provision.

Working across all Woodland Nursery rooms, Chantelle plays an important role in supporting our youngest children and the wider Early Years team, helping to maintain a calm, caring and consistent environment throughout the day.

Mark Hughes

Business Manager

Mark Hughes is Business Manager at Pownall Hall School and oversees the financial and operational management of the school. He is a Chartered Accountant and joined Pownall Hall in 2022, having previously worked closely with the school for over ten years in a senior role with its auditors.

Mark works closely with the Governors and Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the school is managed efficiently and sustainably. He also plays an important role in supporting families with practical matters relating to fees, billing and financial processes, ensuring clear communication and a professional, approachable service.

Mark values the strong sense of community at Pownall Hall and is committed to supporting the school’s long-term success while maintaining a positive experience for families.

Sue White

Office Manager

Sue White is the Office Manager at Pownall Hall School and joined the school in September 2022. She brings extensive experience from both international and UK independent education settings.

Sue previously worked as a School Business Manager at a primary school in South Africa for twelve years, followed by a role at an independent school in Marple, where she gained further experience supporting school operations and families.

As Office Manager, Sue is often the first point of contact for parents and visitors. She plays a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school office and values the strong relationships she builds with children and families. Her calm, organised approach and warm presence contribute significantly to the welcoming atmosphere at Pownall Hall.

Victoria Jackson
Wraparound Care Manager | Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead

Victoria Jackson is Wraparound Care Manager at Pownall Hall School and oversees breakfast club, after-school care and holiday provision. She joined the school in 2013 and brings a wealth of experience from both home-based childcare and school settings.

Victoria began her career as a private nanny before moving into an in-school role at The King’s School, Macclesfield, where she gained valuable classroom experience. At Pownall Hall, she has progressively taken on increased responsibility and now leads all aspects of wraparound care, ensuring provision is safe, nurturing and well organised.

In her role as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, Victoria supports the school’s safeguarding procedures and works closely with staff to promote children’s welfare beyond the classroom. Her calm leadership and strong relationships with pupils and families help ensure continuity of care throughout the school day and beyond.

Jane Goulbourn
Admissions Manager

Jane Goulbourn is Admissions Manager at Pownall Hall School and holds a BA (Hons) in Early Years Practice. She brings over 27 years of experience working across the Early Years sector, including roles within independent schools and day nurseries throughout the UK.

Jane joined Pownall Hall School in January 2022 as an Early Years practitioner, playing an integral role in the opening of the Robin Room and supporting the school’s youngest pupils as they began their journey at Pownall. This experience gave her a strong understanding of the school’s ethos, community and approach to nurturing children from the very earliest stages.

In September 2022, Jane transitioned into the role of Admissions Manager. She now works closely with families throughout the admissions process, offering clear guidance, reassurance and a personal approach at every stage. Jane understands that choosing the right school is an important decision and takes great pride in supporting families as they explore whether Pownall Hall is the right fit for their child.

Jane values building strong relationships with parents and looks forward to welcoming new families into the Pownall Hall community.

Joanne Wragg
Finance Officer

Joanne Wragg is Finance Officer at Pownall Hall School. She joined the school on a temporary basis in Summer 2022 and accepted a permanent position in Autumn 2023.

Joanne brings extensive experience in administration, systems and process management, having previously worked across the IT industry and the housing sector. Her background includes managing customer services and administrative teams, with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency and clear communication.

Alongside her role at Pownall Hall, Joanne also works as a bookkeeper within an accountancy business, further strengthening her expertise in financial processes and reporting.

As Finance Officer, Joanne supports the smooth day-to-day management of school finances and plays an important role in ensuring that systems and procedures are clear and well organised. Her methodical approach and attention to detail contribute to a professional and reassuring experience for families.

Katie Goulbourn
Marketing and Digital Communications Manager

Katie Goulbourn is the Marketing and Digital Communications Manager at Pownall Hall School and joined the school in 2022. She brings specialist experience in digital marketing, content creation and brand storytelling.

Katie has been active in social media and digital platforms since 2007 and began working professionally as a content creator in 2018. During this time, she built a substantial online following and worked with a range of well-known global brands, developing strong expertise in audience engagement, visual storytelling and digital strategy.

At Pownall Hall School, Katie is responsible for overseeing the school’s digital presence and communications, including photography, videography and social media. She works closely with staff and pupils to capture and share authentic moments of school life, ensuring that Pownall’s values, community and ethos are represented clearly and consistently.

Katie values the opportunity to combine her professional skills with a role within an educational setting and takes pride in presenting Pownall Hall School with warmth, accuracy and integrity.

Richard Sullivan
Maintenance Manager

Richard Sullivan is Maintenance Manager at Pownall Hall School and has been part of the school community since 2018.

Richard is responsible for the care, maintenance and safety of the school site and works closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure that the buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard. His role is central to the smooth day-to-day running of the school and to providing a safe, well-kept environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

Richard is a familiar and valued presence around the school and takes great pride in supporting the upkeep of Pownall Hall and its grounds.

Albert Bone
Caretaker

Albert Bone joined Pownall Hall School in 2025 and is part of the Maintenance Team, working closely with the Maintenance Manager to support the day-to-day care of the school site.

Albert plays an important role in ensuring that the school environment is well maintained, safe and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors. He is a helpful and reliable presence around the school and is always willing to support wherever needed.

Albert takes pride in contributing to the smooth running of Pownall Hall School and supporting the high standards of care and presentation across the site.

Natalia Michalik
Domestic Assistant

Natalia Michalik joined Pownall Hall School in 2023 as a Domestic Assistant and plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment across the school.

Prior to joining Pownall Hall, Natalia worked privately within a number of households, where she developed a strong attention to detail and a consistent, methodical approach to her work. Her experience has given her a clear understanding of the importance of high standards, organisation and care in shared spaces.

At Pownall Hall School, Natalia takes pride in ensuring that the school environment is well presented and cared for, supporting the comfort and wellbeing of pupils, staff and visitors. Her work contributes quietly but significantly to the positive experience of daily school life.

Iga Glawczynska
Domestic Assistant

Iga Glawczynska joined Pownall Hall School in July 2023 as a Domestic Assistant and is a valued member of the support team.

Iga takes great pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation, recognising the importance of a well cared for environment in supporting both learning and wellbeing. Her approach is thoughtful and thorough, ensuring that school spaces remain welcoming, safe and well presented for pupils, staff and visitors.

At Pownall Hall School, Iga contributes quietly but consistently to the daily life of the school. She values being part of the wider school community and takes satisfaction in knowing that her work helps create a positive, comfortable environment in which children and staff can thrive.
