Woodland Nursery Expands – Welcome to the Wren Room
At Pownall Hall, we consider childhood to be more than just a stage of life. Childhood is cherished, celebrated and carefully nurtured. Hidden away in eight acres of leafy Wilmslow, our school is a place where children explore, imagine and grow, surrounded, nurtured and encouraged by a community that truly values their early years.
We are delighted to share news of our latest chapter.
In response to the growing demand for places, this September we opened a brand-new nursery space: the Wren Room. Created especially for our youngest children, aged six months to two years, and led by our own Miss Millie, it joins the Woodland Nursery’s much-loved rooms – Robins, Barn Owls and Tawny Owls – each one designed to provide a safe, caring and inspiring start to the learning journey of every child.
Miss Millie, Wren Room Lead, is excited to move across from the Robin Room, where she previously served as the Deputy Room Lead: “Myself and Miss Olivia, our Head of Woodland Nursery, are so proud of the space we have created for our children. We are delighted to welcome new and familiar families to the Wren Room.”
The Wren Room is not just an addition; it is a reflection of our promise to give every child the space and attention they deserve. As a second room for children aged six months to two years, it allows us to maintain our deliberately small numbers, ensuring each little one receives the care, focus and time that early childhood days deserve.
Unsurprisingly, the new places were immediately filled. After months – and in some cases, years – of waiting, it was a joy to tell families that their children could join us sooner than expected. Seeing and hearing the delight of the families only reaffirmed why we do what we do.
Mrs Georgina Flynn, Head of Early Years at Pownall Hall School, commented “I am incredibly proud to be a part of this beautiful new nursery room. It is a space built with care, creativity and love and I can’t wait to see the children learn, play and grow here every day. Pownall is a special place and to be able to work with children and families from such a young age until they are ready to fly the nest at 11 years old is a real privilege.”
Our Woodland Nursery now thrives across four unique rooms: Robins, Wrens, Barn Owls and Tawny Owls, with each one guided by a dedicated team of excellent Early Years Practitioners and Teachers. It is a place where the rhythm of each day balances adventure with reassurance, and where childhood is given space to bloom.
